NEW YORK, NY – June 6, 2003 – RichFX today began shipping a new version of Rich Catalog, the leading online interactive catalog platform, with new features including virtual sticky notes and improved text viewing with patent-pending technology, further enhancing the interactive online shopping experience.
Rich Catalog takes all print collateral, such as catalogs and circulars, and brings it online. Rich Catalog now includes i-flags(TM), virtual sticky notes that allow shoppers to mark pages for future reference. Shoppers can add and remove i-flags from any page in the catalog and quickly jump to a marked page simply by clicking on the flag.
Combined with Rich Catalog’s email-to-a-friend feature, i-flags allow shoppers to share their favorite items by emailing the catalog to a friend for collaborative shopping. The recipient simply opens the catalog from the email and clicks on the i-flags to view their friend’s selections.
Rich Catalog also offers improved text viewing using PureText(TM), an innovative, patent-pending technology from RichFX that renders significantly clearer text while decreasing the required bandwidth. Leveraging RichFX’s unique expertise in image compression and streaming technologies, PureText offers improved readability while simultaneously reducing bandwidth requirements and rendering time.
“There has always been a tradeoff between delivering high-resolution documents and file size and bandwidth requirements” said Uri Arad, Senior Product Manager at RichFX. “RichFX has solved this problem with PureText: offering high-resolution text images available at dial-up speeds,” he continued.
Both enhancements are included in the Rich Catalog Gold version only.
