According to Gartner, the cool new data protection vendors deliver disk-based solutions that capture data more frequently and deliver faster recovery than traditional backup solutions.
According to the report, the storage software industry is dominated by two primary markets: the backup market and the replication market. During the next few years, these two markets will continue to control the majority of software spending in storage management. Both of these markets have data movement capabilities and copy functions, yet they remain distinct even though their functions are increasingly overlapping, and new recovery vendors that promote their products as Continuous Data Protection (CDP) are delivering disk-based solutions that promise a shorter backup window and faster recovery with more frequent data capture resulting in less data loss.

Why Cool: Founded in 1999 and delivering its first product in 2002,XOsoft has several cool
