Scopus Launches New Topology for Video Networks
Las-Vegas, April 7, 2003 Scopus Network Technologies, a leading supplier of digital platforms, today introduced a new concept for content management, contribution and distribution applications over video networks: IVN™ (Intelligent Video Network). IVN™ supports a comprehensive end-to-end-digital compression network system for video distribution over Satellite, Cable TV, Telecommunications and Terrestrial infrastructures. Scopus will demonstrate the new IVN™ concept at the NAB 2003 Show in Scopus’ booth # 6411.

The IVN™ technology represents the next generation topology for video networking. It provides a new perspective for the video industry by handling video through advanced video routers. Scopus video routers will be able to process, control and route digital to digital video signals. Answering the needs of both DTH (Direct to Home) broadcasters as well as video C&D (Contribution and Distribution) service providers, IVN encompasses the entire network infrastructure and enables two-dimensional control over bandwidth. IVN’s architecture is based on a network management system utilizing advanced topology, thus supporting end-to-end system control from the Master Head-End through the network backbone to the Regional Head-Ends and down and to each specific Node or Hub or Remote Site.

Ovadia Cohen, Scopus’ VP Marketing said, “One of IVN’s most important characteristics is that its network homogeneity provides low cost solutions per service to lower operational expenses. In addition, Scopus’ IVN distributed architecture management system is based on technologies that enable TV operators to improve their network management capabilities and thus enhance their ability to increase their revenue generation.”
